Workshop „Neo-völkische Geschichtsbilder in populären Vergangenheitsaneignungen im östlichen Europa“

Vom 27.-28. September 2018 findet in Leipzig der Workshop „Neo-völkische Geschichtsbilder in populären Vergangenheitsaneignungen im östlichen Europa. Neuheidentum – Reenactment – Musikszene“ statt.

In rechtsextremen (Sub)Kulturen lässt sich seit einigen Jahren wieder ein verstärkter Rückgriff auf vermeintlich bis in vor- und frühgeschichtliche Zeiten zurückreichende Traditions- und Herkunftslinien beobachten. Insbesondere vorchristliche Gesellschaften dienen als Identifikationsobjekte und Projektionsflächen für scheinbar „natürliche“ und „unverfälschte“ Lebensbilder, Spiritualität und Gesellschaftsordnungen. Die Konstruktion solcher Kontinuitäten reproduziert Auffassungen von zumeist biologistisch verstandenen Zugehörigkeiten im Sinne eines Ethnonationalismus und schafft gleichzeitig Abgrenzungen gegenüber anders interpretierten Gesellschaften in Geschichte und Gegenwart. Der Workshop stellt das Aufgreifen völkischer Geschichtsbilder in Populärkulturen des östlichen Europa zur Diskussion und nimmt anhand konkreter Beispiele in den Blick, wie durch selektive historisierende Bezüge und Vergangenheitserzählungen nationalistische und rassistische Ideologien in die Mitte der Gesellschaft getragen werden können.
